- Nearly half of the 1,400 homes in Mountain Lakes were built before 1930. The narrow, winding roads are fringed with puddingstone fences, following the contour of the land. The borough holdings, including nine manmade lakes and undeveloped woodlands make up 40% of the 3.2 square mile community where half of St. Peter’s parishioners reside. The balance of the congregation are from the surrounding communities in Morris County.
